Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

quokli is a social money app. You make promises with a price, alone or with friends: wake up at 7, go to the gym three times a week, or a rule you write yourself. You show you kept it, with a photo or with data from your iPhone. Break it and the price goes where you chose, like your own savings or the friend you challenged. Habits are for everyone. Anything with money is for people 18 and older.

We use your activity to personalise quokli.

This policy says what we collect, why, and who sees it. quokli is still being built, and we update this page as it changes.

What we collect

Apple Health, location and Screen Time

We use these only to check your promises, and only for a promise where you turn them on.

Photos and AI checks

When you send a photo, we send it with the rule of that promise to an AI provider, which checks whether it shows the promise kept. When you write your own rule, an AI provider reads the rule to suggest what the photo should show. When you talk to quokli or type what you want to change, your iPhone turns your voice into words (on the phone when it can, otherwise with Apple's speech recognition); we keep the words, never the recording, and send them to an AI provider to suggest your promises. Our AI providers handle this only for us and don't use it to train their models. They may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse.

A photo is seen by the people in that promise: the friend in a challenge, or your group. You can keep any photo private. Kept photos stay on your profile as your memories until you delete them or your account. Photos that didn't count are deleted within 30 days.

We keep some proof photos from adult users for up to 180 days only to check and improve how accurately quokli reviews photos. They are reviewed by our team and by the AI provider that already reviews every proof photo (which doesn’t train on them), and are never shared with anyone else or shown to other users. Photos of people under 18 are never kept for this.

How we use it

Who sees it

Your friends see what you share with them: your name, username and score, the challenges you share and their results, and the photos you choose to share.

Service providers handle data for us and on our instructions: Supabase (database, sign-in and photo storage), AI providers (photo and rule checks), PostHog (analytics, hosted in the EU), Apple (Sign in with Apple and notifications) and Cloudflare (website and waitlist). When quokli moves money for you, the payment partners involved get what they need, and the app names them first.

We also share data when the law requires it, to protect people and quokli, or with the parties to a financing, merger or acquisition under confidentiality. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Your choices

Turn analytics off in Settings → Analytics. Turn notifications, Apple Health, location and Screen Time off in your iPhone's Settings. Delete a photo in the app. Delete your account in Settings → Delete account. You can also email privacy@quokli.com to turn analytics off or delete your account.

How long we keep it

Kept photos: until you delete them or your account. Other photos: 30 days at most, except photos kept to check our photo reviews: 180 days at most. Health and location records: only as long as needed to check your promises. Everything else: while your account exists.

When you delete your account, we delete your name, email, username and photos right away and disconnect your devices. Your past promises and amounts stay without your name, so your friends' records stay correct. We keep what the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires.

This website

On quokli.com we measure how the site is used with PostHog, hosted in the EU: which page version you see, the steps you take on it (for example writing, signing or holding a promise), whether you join, and how long you stay. PostHog sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device for this; your email, your name and the words of your promise never go to it. We show visitors different versions of the page to learn which one explains quokli best. A small cookie (qv) remembers which version you saw, so you see the same one each time; it holds only the version's name and lasts a year.

When you join the waitlist we keep your email, your IP address, browser and country, the link that brought you, the page version you joined on, and the promise you made on the page, if you made one, so it can be waiting in quokli at launch. If you joined through a friend's link, we record that their link brought you. Cloudflare checks that a person, not a bot, is signing up.

When you send a friend your promise, its words, your first name and your signature travel inside the link itself, in the part after the #, which never reaches our servers. Anyone you send the link to can see them.

If you give us your phone number, we text you a code to confirm it, then text you when quokli opens in your country. Reply STOP at any time and we stop. Website signups stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to receive a copy of it, and not to be treated differently for exercising these rights, for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state laws. Email privacy@quokli.com; we verify the request and answer within the time the law sets. An authorized agent may act for you where the law allows.

If you are in the EU, the UK or another place with its own data protection law

We process your data to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving and marketing our products (you can object at any time), with your consent where required (you can withdraw it at any time), and to meet legal obligations. We use Apple Health data only with your explicit consent, which you give when you turn it on for a promise and can withdraw in your iPhone's Settings. You have the right to access, correct, delete, export or restrict your personal data and to object to processing based on legitimate interests; email privacy@quokli.com. Your data may be processed in the United States and in the EU; where required we use recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority; in Austria that is the Datenschutzbehörde (dsb.gv.at).

Children

quokli is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If we learn that a child under 13 uses quokli, we delete the account. If you are under the age where you can agree to this yourself where you live (for example 14 in Austria or 16 in Germany), use quokli with a parent's permission. Investing is for people 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live. Parents can reach us at privacy@quokli.com.

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 11, 2026

By using the quokli app ("the app") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What quokli is

quokli is a social money app. You make a promise, alone or with a friend, set when it counts and what breaking it costs, and show you kept it. Keep it and your score goes up. Break it and the price goes where you chose, like your own savings or the friend you challenged. How the money moves is under Money below.

quokli is being built. What it offers, how it works, which features and partners it includes, and where and when it launches are not final. We may change, adapt, replace, pause or end any part of the product, our policies and our approach at any time, and we update these terms when we do.

Your account

You must be 13 or older to use quokli. Promises and challenges with a price are open from 13. Investing needs you to be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live. Give us accurate information, including your age. Keep your sign-in safe; you are responsible for activity on your account. Don't misuse the app, probe its security or use it unlawfully. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account.

Checks

A promise is checked with a photo or with data from your iPhone, such as Apple Health, location or Screen Time. Photos are checked by AI. Checks can be wrong. If a result looks wrong, email hello@quokli.com within 7 days and we look at it. Results count toward your score and what you owe.

What you share

You are responsible for the photos, names and rules you share. Don't share anything sexual, violent, hateful or harassing, anything that shows another person without their permission, or anything unlawful. We do not tolerate this: we remove it and may end the account that shared it. Report a photo or block a person in the app; we review reports within 24 hours. You let us store, check and show your photos to the people you share them with, only to run quokli.

Our content & your feedback

The app, its design, branding, code, and content are owned by quokli and protected by intellectual-property law; these terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app, not any ownership in it. If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you agree we may use them freely to build and improve our products, without restriction or compensation.

Availability & changes

quokli is a young product and the app is provided "as is" and "as available". We may add, change, or remove features, and we update these terms and our Privacy Policy as the product evolves; where changes are material we make reasonable efforts to notify you. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Disclaimers & liability

Some features depend on your iPhone (for example alarms, notifications, Apple Health, location and Screen Time), on AI checks or on third parties, which we do not control and which may not work perfectly every time. To the fullest extent permitted by law, quokli is provided without warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law where you live, or our liability for death, personal injury, or anything that cannot be excluded by law.

Governing law

Once the quokli company is formed, these terms will be governed by the laws of the US state where it is formed, and that state will be named here. Until then they are governed by the laws of the place where the operator is resident. Nothing in this section affects any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live, including the right to bring proceedings in your own country.

Money

The price of a promise is your own commitment. The app keeps the record of what you owe yourself or a friend, and today you move that money yourself. A challenge with a friend is an agreement between the two of you: quokli records it and shows who owes what. When quokli moves money for you, the app shows how it works, who is involved and what it costs before any money moves. Any card or bank cost is yours.

Waitlist offer: closed

The waitlist offer closes for new signups on 16 October 2026. Everyone who joined the waitlist before then keeps what it promised: the first three months of any paid quokli subscription free, from the day quokli opens to the public in their country, with the email address that joined.

The terms they joined under

Anyone who joins the waitlist at quokli.com while this offer is running gets the first three months of any paid quokli subscription free. The three months start on the day quokli opens to the public in the joiner's country and the joiner opens an account with the email address that joined. The offer covers the subscription fee only. The price you put on a promise, and any card or bank cost, is yours. After the three free months the subscription continues at the price shown in the app on that day, and you can cancel at any time in the app, before or after that day. We show you the price and ask for your consent before we take any payment. Nothing is charged and no payment details are collected on the waitlist. One offer per person, tied to the email address that joined; it is not transferable and has no cash value.

Waitlist giveaway: ended

The waitlist giveaway that began on 7 September 2026 ends on 23 October 2026. Fewer than 1,000 eligible people joined, so no prize became due and no draw takes place. Signups after the end date are not entered.
